I no longer identify as Welsh. We do not belong to any one piece of land, nor does the land belong to us. When travelling, I asked the trees where I belong & they answered, Wherever your feet touch the ground, so I’ve made a home inside myself knowing that I will always be where I belong. The antidote to nationalism is of course celebrating cultural diversity in all its gloriously messy & kaleidoscopic forms, which is why I now live in London immersing in this epic poem of culture, language, & art.
